The Model BRC
is a motorized brush style conveyor belt cleaner for use in a variety of heavy-duty applications. The BRC is a unique brush style belt cleaner in that it installs, adjusts, and maintains all from one side of the conveyor. This model will work in wet or dry applications, as well as on a variety of organic materials and metal fines. The powered brush turns in the opposite direction of the belt in order to throw the dislodged material back into the discharge stream.

The Model BRC is a good choice for use as a standalone belt cleaner, and makes an excellent secondary belt cleaner when used behind one of our bladed primary cleaners in the more aggressive applications.

  • Model BRC can be mounted on either side of the conveyor. The motor/cover can be mounted left hand or right hand.
  • The frame of the conveyor belt cleaner should ideally be located so that the brush is directly under the center line of the head pulley. However, it can be mounted at any point where access to the belt is available. It is helpful if the cleaner is mounted at a point on the conveyor close to a return idler where there is no vertical flapping of the belt.
  • An opening 11" high x 9" wide is required for the brush assembly. Mounting holes are located using the cleaner frame as a template. Holes are drilled and the frame is mounted using 1/2" hex-head cap screws, lock washers and nuts.
  • The installation proceeds with the brush shaft and bearing assembly being installed with the brush centered under the belt. The shaft can be cut to the desired length.
  • The unit has two unique installation tubes that are mounted temporarily in the frame. The brush assembly then can be inserted under the belt using the tubes as support during the assembly process. The brush assembly is inserted through the frame opening and tilted into place using the leverage tube provided with the unit.
  • The motor mount assembly and the motor are then installed. The proper pulley sheave is installed for the brush speed desired.
  • The final step in installation is to wire the electric motor so that the brush rotates against the travel of the conveyor belt. The brush should turn on and off with the operation of the conveyor.
