MODEL 70 END TAPPED VIBRATOR: End tapped with inch or millimeter thread for attaching to threaded rod or stud. MODEL 80 END MOUNTED PISTON VIBRATOR - “BIG RED”: The new revolutionary lightweight all steel design makes it an inexpensive unit for the big bin or hopper job without sacrificing the quality of the more expensive flange mounted units. The single bolt attachment makes them easy and fast to install. The “BIG RED” is supplied either with a silent (air cushioned) piston or the more powerful impacting (piston hitting end cap) standard unit. O-rings cover the air exhaust holes keeping dust and dirt out of the piston chamber, avoiding scoring and damage to piston and cylinder walls, and allowing the units to operate in the worst environments. FP Series Pneumatic Piston Vibrators are explosion-proof, lightweight, compact, durable, efficient, and quiet. The timed impact of the Single Impulse (SI) design allows for low frequency vibration, reduced noise levels, and greater material control. SI Series models are ideal for removal of powdered materials found in most dust collection hoppers and bag houses. Essentially, the SI Series vibrator is a sledgehammer with both controlled intensity and controlled frequency. Six sizes are available, and each can be converted in the field to a continuously impacting vibrator if needed. SI Series vibrators require the use of a pneumatic or electronic timer and solenoid valve.
The single impact pneumatic vibrator or "air knocker" delivers one impact at a maximum frequency of once every three seconds through a five-port spool valve. A timer is used to vary the impact cycle required. VTL Series Linear Pneumatic Piston Vibrators provide quiet linear vibrating force using an air cushioned piston. Frequency and amplitude can be controlled independently – frequency is controlled by varying air pressure and amplitude is varied by changing the weight of the vibrating mass. The VTL Series Vibrators can be mounted by the piston or by the housing; therefore, either the piston or the housing can be used as the vibrating mass. Additional weights can also be added to the free end of the vibrator, further increasing the range of available amplitudes. Using additional masses the vibrator is able to work at low frequencies down to 15 Hz and to generate large amplitudes. VTL vibrators combine the advantages of low frequency rotary vibrators (large amplitudes) with those of magnetic vibrators (adjustable amplitudes). Additionally, they have the advantage of being able to select the most suitable frequency to obtain optimum results. VTL's are effective flow aids for feeders, tables, screens, and hoppers.

Piston vibrators use the impact action produced by the oscillating piston to flex the bin wall. This flexing action loosens material stuck to the wall, thus restoring material flow. In general, there are two styles of pneumatic piston vibrators: Impacting and Air-Cushioned (or non-impacting).
Impacting models allow the internal piston to strike the base of the vibrator, producing the greatest amount of force and frequency. Air-Cushioned models use a cushion of air to dampen the piston movement, so the piston reverses direction before impacting the vibrator base. Therefore, Air-Cushioned models are more quiet but also produce less force and frequency than the Impacting models.
