CMS Zero Speed Control
(6)
The Model CMS is a direct drive control that indicates when rotating equipment has ceased to turn. The output contacts of the Model CMS can control up to two separate circuits, one for machinery shutdown and one for an alarm.
The Model CMS provides a means of protection to prevent compound damage from inoperative or failed equipment due to a lack of rotation.
Technical Specifications:
• The housing is cast aluminum, with optional epoxy or polyester powder coatings available. These coatings will provide protection against corrosion that is equal or greater than cast iron.
• The unit can be connected to rotating equipment by means of a stub shaft and flexible coupling.
• The unit is mounted on the conveyor by drilling (4) 5/16" diameter holes.
• General purpose (weatherproof) units and explosionproof units have (2) 3/4" NPT conduit openings.
• The standard unit has 120 VAC power input (120 VAC transformer). Optional 240 VAC power input (240 VAC transformer) and 24V AC/DC (transformer-less) available upon request.
• The unit has a dry, unpowered DP/DT relay rated for 3A @ 120 VAC, 240 VAC, and 480 VAC.
• The unit is bi-directional, it will detect motion or loss of motion in either direction.
• The operating temperature range is -50ºF to 150ºF (-45ºC to 66ºC).
• The general purpose units are rated NEMA Type 4/4X weatherproof and corrosion-resistant, and explosion proof units are rated NEMA Type 7/9 for vapor explosion proof and dust ignition proof.
• The general purpose controls are IP65 compliant.
• Most models are UL listed and CSA certified
Model 27 Flow Switch
The Model 27 Flow Switch is designed to produce a signal if the flow of material at any critical point is interrupted. This signal can then be used to correct the difficulty and/or warn the operator

(8)
The Model FS is designed to provide indication of presence or absence of dry bulk material on a conveyor belt. Each unit is equipped with one or two output micro-switches which can provide a positive shut off. The output contacts of the Model FS can control up to two separate circuits, one for machinery shutdown and one for an alarm.
The Model FS is versatile enough to be used in a variety of applications; it can provide proof that material is actually flowing from a chute onto a conveyor belt, or it can be used to actuate a misting systems to reduce dust only when material is present.
Technical Specifications:
• The housing is cast aluminum, with optional epoxy or polyester coatings available. These coatings will provide protection against corrosion that is equal or greater than cast iron.
• The unit can detect the presence or absence of dry bulk material on a conveyor belt.
• The unit is mounted on the conveyor by drilling (3) 13/32" diameter holes.
• General purpose (weatherproof) units have (1) 3/4" NPT conduit opening.
• The units have dry, unpowered SP/DT micro-switch(es) rated for 20A @ 120 VAC, 240 VAC, and 480 VAC.
• The paddle, counterweight, and cross shaft are all field adjustable for a variety of effects.
• The operating temperature range is -40ºF (-40ºC) to 150ºF (65ºC).
• The general-purpose units are rated NEMA 4/4X weatherproof and corrosion-resistant. Explosionproof units are rated NEMA 7/9 for dust ignitionproof and vapor explosion proof. The dual-rated "D" units are rated NEMA 4 weatherproof and NEMA 9 dust ignitionproof.
• The general-purpose controls are IP65 compliant.
• Most models are UL listed and CSA certified.
CMS Speed Responsive Switch
RUGGED, HEAVY DUTY DETECTION
The Model CMS Motion Sensing Control is a compact
unit designed to include all mechanical and electronic
components in one housing. It will produce an output
signal at a predetermined speed which may be either
underspeed or overspeed. Rugged, heavy duty
construction combined with solid state electronics and
photo-electric technology, make this one of the most
advanced detectors available.
The Model CMS protects all valuable rotating equipment
including belt conveyors, bucket elevators, rotary
feeders, or screw conveyors. It operates in either a
clockwise or counterclockwise direction and mounts in
any position.
The control can be mounted in any position, but the
mounting surface should be flat and smooth. The
bearing brackets and shim plates shown in the chart can
be used to mount the unit directly to the pillow block
supporting a shaft. Normally, only 1/4” mounting bolts
and lock washers are required. If vibration is extreme two
of the mounting holes should be doweled and bolts used
in the others.
The shaft of the device should be mounted in line with
or parallel to the driving shaft. Model CMS can be
driven by a flexible coupling, V-belt drive, chain drive, or
gear drive
MSD-800 Programmable Motion Control
The Model MSD is comprised of two different components, a control unit and a speed sensor. The Model MSD-800 control unit is a programmable unit that has two set points permitting it to indicate two under-speed points or two over-speed points, or one of each. The control unit acts as a digital tachometer that constantly displays the actual speed of the equipment being monitored. The Model MSD-1 speed sensor installs directly to the shaft of the rotating equipment to be monitored and is enclosed in a rugged cast aluminum housing designed to withstand harsh environments.
The Model MSD alerts the operator of a change in rotary speed. It sends a signal to the control unit which can be used to sound an alarm and/or shutdown the equipment completely. By monitoring speed you can greatly reduce system and equipment downtime by fixing malfunctions such as broken drive gears or belts, overworked motors, belt overload and other problems before serious damage occurs.

RMS Non-Contact Motion Control
The Model RMS is a non-contact motion control that indicates when a rotating shaft has slowed or quit moving altogether. The unit can be adjusted as an overspeed, underspeed, or zero speed control. The output contacts of the Model RMS can control up to two separate circuits, one for machinery shutdown and one for an alarm.
The Model RMS can shut down rotating equipment before damage is encountered. It provides protection for interlocked conveyor belts, especially if one of the belts fails due to overloading or tearing.
