ER-10 and ER-10/R Industrial Registers
(5)
The Badger Meter® Model ER-10 electronic register is a meter-mounted totalizer and rate indicator designed for use with all Badger Meter product lines.
The ER-10/R is the remote version and can be used with any Badger Meter flow meter that is equipped with a compatible pulse endpoint. A rear adapter plate is provided with the remote version for attaching the unit to a wall or other suitable surface.
The ER-10 series electronic register simultaneously displays rate-of-flow and totalization at the push of a button.
The unit is battery powered. Optical sensors and other electronic sensors with open collector outputs must be externally powered.
The totalizing function uses an easy-to-read, 8-digit numeric LCD display. The rate mode uses a similar 4-digit display. Step-by-step independent programming of scale factors for the rate and totalization functions allows you to program any engineering unit such as gallons per minute and total gallons.
When the indicator is used as a totalizer, the display can be reset to zero from the front panel button or from an external switch wired directly to a rear terminal. The front panel reset function can be inhibited.
You can backlight the display by connecting a DC power source to the unit.
Flow through the meter causes pulses to be generated by the sensor or endpoint. Each pulse represents a specific volume of fluid. Using the Model 25 Disc meter as an example, 198 pulses are generated every time one gallon of fluid passes through the meter. Entering an appropriate scale factor independently for the rate and totalization modes results in the pulse indication on the display showing a meaningful unit of measure for each.

• All solid-state components for long life
• Battery powered
• Corrosion-resistant plastic housing built to
• NEMA 4X specifications
• Programmable for rate of flow and totalization
• Backlit display available
• Front panel totalizer Reset switch can be disabled
• Reprogramming can be inhibited
Industrial Turbo Meters
(27)Description
The Badger Meter Industrial Turbine is a rugged, reliable meter ideally suited for chemical or industrial fluid applications. Its compact size and ease of serviceability without removal from the line, coupled with a choice of materials, make this a cost-effective selection. Designed with performance in mind, the meter provides a high level of accuracy over a wide flow range with a minimum of pressure loss. The Badger Meter Turbine is available in line sizes of 2", 3", 4" and 6" with a choice of flange ratings and three different body materials, including stainless steel. Its unique straight-through flow profile and ceramic bearing design optimize performance. To complement the meter, Badger Meter offers a complete line of accessories that includes mechanical, electromechanical and state-of-the-art electronic transmitters, totalizers, indicators and process controllers.
Operation
The Badger Meter Industrial Turbine is a volumetric liquid flow meter that works on the time proven principle of a rotor turning at an angular velocity proportional to the fluid velocity through the turbine. The meter has straightening vanes and a nose cone in the inlet side which minimize upstream turbulence and direct the flow to the rotor effectively. Electronic pickups generate signals from the rotor magnet. The signals are translated to an open collector-transistor pulse output. Mechanical pickups and electromechanical outputs are also available.
Applications
The Turbo model is used in a wide range of fluid applications covering from water to oils and solvents to acids. The meter is used in water treatment systems, loading and unloading of tankers or rail cars, batching systems, or simply inventory control of a process fluid. Anywhere high volume and/or high flow rates are at least sometimes required in the application, the Turbo meter is likely the right choice.
Features:
• Long lasting ceramic bearings
• Simple in-line serviceability
• Three housing materials available
• 1.5% accuracy
• 0.25% repeatability
• Low pressure loss
M7600 Flow Meter
(12)
Description
The Badger Meter® M7600 flow meter combines the most advanced electromagnetic flow metering technology with a simple, yet robust, output for batching systems found in industrial applications. Based on Faraday’s Law of electromagnetic induction, M7600 meters can accurately measure and control most batching needs in the industrial market. Its completely open cross-section flow tube design with no moving parts, makes it the ideal metering device for batching of a wide range of industrial conductive fluids. While other metering technologies are hindered by the presence of suspended solids in the process fluid, the M7600 will continue to measure flow, provided the conductivity remains higher than 5 microhms/cm. Having a non obstructive flow-through pipe design allows particulates to pass through the meter body. The signal voltage, measured by the electrodes, passes through the entire cross sectional profile for improved accuracy. The M7600 meter features an intuitive PC interface used for selecting the scale factor, unit of measure and pules per unit, making these meters the most straight-forward metering systems available in the Industry.
Operation
The M7600 meters have stainless steel flow tubes with internal isolating linings. Two electromagnetic coils are located outside the flow tube, diametrically opposed to each other and protected by a carbon steel housing. Two electrodes, inserted into the flow tube, are positioned flush with the internal diameter of the tube and perpendicular to the coils. The coils are energized by a pulsed DC voltage provided by the electronic converter, and a magnetic field is generated across the flow tube section. According to Faraday’s law, when this magnetic field is cut by the conductive liquid flowing through the meter, a voltage is generated in the liquid. This voltage is directly proportional to the liquid flow velocity, and therefore to the actual volumetric flow rate of the liquid. The electronic converter measures this voltage, processes the signal, and provides two digital pulse outputs, scalable to the desired volumetric value. These digital pulse outputs can be connected to a batch controller, a totalizer display unit for monitoring purposes, or to both devices simultaneously. The operation of the M7600 meter is not affected by a moderate presence of most suspended solids in the liquid. Variations of liquid temperature, viscosity or density have no influence in the principle of operation.
Application
Because of its inherent advantages over other more conventional technologies, the M7600 meter can be used in the majority of industrial process batching applications and is the meter of choice for concrete batching operations. Whether the fluid is water or something very viscous, contains a moderate amount of solids or requires special handling, the M7600 meter will be able to accurately provide flow measurement.
