Grasshopper Conveyors
Smalis' portable conveyors are frequently referred to as Transfer Conveyors or Grasshopper Conveyors. These portable units allow producers to convey materials from one point to another, eliminating the need and expense of loaders, trucks, fuel and personnel, thus reducing job costs and production times. Using a portable unit allows the producer to utilize every bit of stockpile and storage space on their site.
Portable Conveyors are comprised of field bolted prefabricated truss sections. One end is elevated by struts from an axle equipped with tires. The transfer or grasshopper conveyors are moved around the site pads by the use of a large fork truck or front-end loader.

Overland/Groundline Conveyor Systems
When you add up the costs of maintenance, fuel and ever-evolving environmental impacts, haul trucks can be an expensive method of moving material. Superior’s overland conveyor systems offer their users some economic relief. Over time, the savings are calculated in everything from labor costs to energy.
Our overland conveyor systems are designed to handle a diverse group of customers. Capacities ranging from a trickle of material all the way up to several thousand tons an hour, our application engineers will grade your site and desired material quantity to develop a perfect fit.
Each custom engineered system comes with assembled head and tail sections, plus all the guarding, drives and other components. Intermediate sections are available in lengths of 20' to 60'.
Features:
• Custom engineered based on terrain, material, density, length and tons per hour.
• Thicker channel construction requires fewer supports resulting in quicker installation.
• Equipped with Superior branded conveyor components.
• Replace trucks to reduce emissions by up to 98% a day.

Trailblazer Conveyor
(3)
A highly unique innovation, thenTrailblazer® Conveyor includes 500-feet of fully-belted and assembled groundline conveyor in a mobile, one-load, towable package.
Versus Traditional Transfer Conveyors
Let’s say the average transfer conveyor (also known as jumps or grasshoppers) is about 60-feet long. To cover the same 500-foot stretch, you would need at least eight separate conveyors. That is eight transfer points to clean, eight belts to maintain and eight drives to power. With the portable Trailblazer conveyor you have one transfer point, one belt and one power supply.
Versus Traditional Groundline Conveyor
Historically, stationary groundline conveyors require days or even weeks for setup or teardown. Meanwhile, the Trailblazer Conveyor allows rapid deployment from road to working status in a couple of hours. With a gravity-style take-up built into the trailer structure, the portable conveyor simply folds in or out in an accordion fashion from its chassis with a minimal crew required to position the supports.
Features:
• Experienced crews can set up 500-foot package in as little as an hour.
• Compared to (8) transfers, this unit requires one power supply, reducing power by 85%.
• This unit has one belt and one transfer point, greatly reducing maintenance.
• Exclusively manufactured by Superior Industries with a technology patent pending.
Options:
• 36", 42", 48" belt widths
• Superior branded components
